The Tech is in... Russell Weisenbacher grew up in Remsenburg and attended Westhampton Beach High School. After graduating from Emerson College in Boston with a degree in Communications, Russell relocated to the Manorville area and started his computer/technology business, Russ The Computer Guy. Russell has been repairing, installing, and maintaining computers, as well as providing instruction on their use since 1987. Locally, in Quogue, Russell also has been involved, for the past 35 years, with the Quogue Junior Theater Troupe under the direction of Suzanne Prior as their Technical Director. Russell is proud to be a part of the Quogue Library family and looks forward to all the exciting technological challenges and opportunities that await him.

Introduction to MS PowerPoint 2010 - Level 1

Fee: $5 out of district
PowerPoint 2010 is the bestselling presentation graphics program in the world. It is used by business people, lecturers, students, exhibitors, and others to easily create effective presentations for many occasions. Participants will learn to use the program and will also learn the "do's and don'ts" of a good presentation.

Class Length: 1.5 Hours
Prerequisites: Participants should have a familiarity with using the mouse, keyboard, opening/closing windows.

How to Buy the Right Computer
Saturday, May 17 at 2 p.m.

Fee: $5.00 out of district

Learn how to find the right computer for you or your family member! Desktop, laptop, tablet, and netbook considerations will be discussed. Learn what you need to know to make an informed purchase. Find out what all the terms and options mean and what you really need in a computer system to be happy, safe, and productive. Discover how to compare systems and find the best deals. This is a lecture/presentation.

Class Length: Approximately 1.5 Hours

Internet Safety
Saturday, May 24 at 2 p.m.

Fee: $5 out of district

Since the last time this seminar was offered, computer/Internet safety has become the forefront of global news reports. The proliferation of new, dangerous viruses has quadrupled in the last year alone!! This seminar (lecture/presentation) will provide participants with information to help avoid the many scams, frauds, and cheats out on the Internet. Additionally, participants will learn about viruses/malware; how to protect against infections; and more. This is a lecture/presentation.

How to use your iPhone, Part II
Thursday, May 29 at 6:30 p.m.

Fee: $5.00 out of district

The second part to the very successful iPhone class held earlier this year. Learn additional tips and tricks for using the iPhone and have your questions answered.

Presentation Length: 1.5 Hours
Prerequisites: Open to users of the iPhone only.

Care & Feeding of Your Computer
(Basic Computer Maintenance That You Can Do!)
Thursday, June 12 at 6:30 p.m.

Fee: $5.00 out of district

This class is designed for those users that would like to learn more about the inner workings of both the hardware and software. Learn to maintain your computer for better performance, reliability, and usability. Keep your computer safe and enjoy your system more. Topics include: program install/ un-install considerations, disk and file maintenance, utility program usage, anti-virus and security options, power, heat, and dust considerations, hardware and software upgrade and update options. This is a lecture/presentation.

Class Length: 1.5 Hours
Prerequisites: Intermediate to Advanced.

Participants must be comfortable using the computers and not fear going "under the hood" to correct problems.
